A RECENT letter from Jenny Moxham decried the slaughter of farm animals, citing them correctly as intelligent creatures somewhat like us.
They do not want to die and undoubtedly suffer terror as they are killed.
However, the truth is that we humans are ourselves an animal. Over millions of years, we have developed by killing and eating other animals as well as some vegetable matter.
Very few of us are nowadays involved in the killing and chopping. Therefore, we all quietly ignore that part and forget where our chops and bacon came from.
