Look Beyond The Veil

Janice TeoComment News

AS a teenager in the community, I am very disappointed at the negative response to women who wear robes and veils.

For instance, recently in Iran a female player for the Iranian futsal team (a type of indoor soccer) scored the most goals out of all the players, both men and women.

Instead of celebrating this, people were writing nasty and negative comments about her clothing.

I think people should comment about her achievement not about what she is wearing.

I know what is happening with ISIS now is very bad, but it does not mean that who ever wears robes and veils are bad people.

As a young Iranian refugee living in our community, I think it would be nice if people could just remember that not everyone who wears a veil is a terrorist.

I am from Iran and I am Christian, but it does not mean that I judge Islamic people for what they wear.
