Man was right to protect dog

This man is to be commended, not penalised.

If people are continually going to be penalised for preventing wrongdoing, soon no-one will step in to help in any situation.

The teenager is the one who should have been penalised and his details should now be provided to the RSPCA to take appropriate action, which should include confiscation of his dog, a hefty fine and an order preventing him from owning a dog or any animal in the future.
