Train promises unfulfilled

No money, no train line extension.
No money, no train line extension.

FIRST things first: the Thornlie train line extension is to be up and running but where is the money that the Liberals had promised?

Looks like no trains will be running along the extension until the cash gets underway.

Our secondary schools built in the 1970s are long due for upgrading but very sadly again the Liberals are broke – even with their promises to fund the upgrading.

Perhaps Liberal promises are generally empty ones, or perhaps the money has gone towards Colin Barnett’s “trophies” in the city.

The freight railway/Nicholson Road grade separation has seen a $9 million cut with the project already delayed.

That should be underway now but the Liberals have brought in extended time.

That is another promise all busted up and chucked in the bin.

With fees and charges levied by the Government, all rising like an elevator into space, why, that elevator could even bump into the International Space Station too. Oops!

The State Budget stated that all WA families will pay mWore for electricity, water and cars after the Government had let the cat out of the bag, namely a record budget deficit.

With the struggling post-boom economy, thousands of West Australians are expected to lose their jobs.

Well done, Captain Colin Barnett and First Officer Mike Nahan… good on you.

GERALD JEEVARATNAM,

Thornlie.
