Well out left

Janice TeoComment News

THE photo in the April 19 edition shows Gosnells MLA Chris Tallentire riding a bicycle well out from the left side of the road and in a position where a motorist leaving a metre of clearance would be denied the use of the traffic lane.

This might not be just a statement of arrogance and greed of cyclists demanding extra road space, but it might reflect how cyclists are conditioned to ride well out from the left because of debris from littering and from insecure loading being swept by traffic towards the left part of our roads.

Hidden Multanovas do nothing to assist cyclists whereas live police patrols, if properly attuned, might do something to assist both cyclists and motorists.
