The couple searched the established home market before deciding to buy and build on a 300sq m block in Satterley Property Group’s Heron Park estate at Harrisdale.

“We have built once before in Baldivis and really enjoyed the building experience, which is why we wanted to do it again,” Mr Brolly said.

“As well as that, we didn’t see anything on the established market we liked and we knew by building our own home we could design the house exactly how we wanted.”

The couple considered moving to a new estate north of the river but decided it was too far from the city.

“We fell in love with this little community as soon as we drove around the area,” they said.

“It is surrounded by beautiful tree-lined streets and so many lovely outdoor areas, we instantly had a really good feeling about the place.

“We love the fact that Heron Park has been well developed for families with everything you need close by.

“It is only 20 minutes away from the city, about half-an- hour from Fremantle and is not too far away to drive for work either.

“We’re looking forward to moving into Heron Park later this year and being part of what feels like a great community, with all the free events and activities that take place.”

Satterley Property Group chief executive Nigel Satterley said Heron Park was consistently a top seller in Perth’s southern corridor and only getting better with the construction of new facilities.

“Heron Park offers something for buyers of all life stages, those looking to be in close proximity to the new Harrisdale Primary School, the new high school, district playing fields and new shopping centre under construction and the beautiful landscaped parks,” he said.

Home sites are still available at Heron Park, ranging from 281sq m to 625sq m and priced from $265,000 to $395,000.
