Armadale’s Spartans Little Athletics Club hopes for boost in numbers from Olympics

Francis CurroComment News

After the London Olympics, the club saw a rise of about 30 per cent in participation numbers, club manager Nick Barnett said.

He said athletics did not get the coverage that AFL and soccer got, so the Olympic Games provided a big boon for athletics.

“Kids will sit down and watch the athletics on television,” he said.

“This is also the time kids have sports carnivals and they are right into their athletics.”
