PERTH Heat scorched the competition on Sunday with a win against the Blue Sox in Sydney after suffering two crushing defeats on the Saturday.
After dropping the first three of the series, the Heat took game four 5-1 following a strong start from Daniel Schmidt and a Luke Hughes home run.
It was a different story from Saturday’s games, when a downtrodden Heat suffered a three-game losing streak.
Sydney]s Zac Shepard on base prevented Heat adding much-needed runs to the tally as they fell behind quickly in game one due to a wild pitch from Nick Veale.
He redeemed himself as he then tossed five scoreless innings.
Joey Wong scored Sam Kenelly from third to tie the game in the fifth off starter Luke Wilkins for Sydney.
The Heat failed to capitalise after getting bases loaded in both the six and seventh, instead going 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position, which let Sydney snatch the game.
