Breakaways Masters Softball gear up for World Masters Games

BREAKAWAYS Masters Softballers is gearing up for the World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand in April next year.

The games are held every four years for athletes from more than 25 different sports with each sporting having a different minimum age requirement.

Breakaways Masters started playing Masters Softball to compete against players of their own age and have since travelled around the world competing.

They won a silver medal in the 45+ category at the games in Sydney in 2009 and followed up with bronze in Italy in 2013.

The team hopes to bring another medal home in the 35+ and 45+ competitions next year.
