CANNING Vale’s Jade Vanderzwan has been earmarked as a future Australian hockey star with inclusion into a prestigious national program.
Jade was one of 14 young WA hockey players to be named in the National Futures Program after a strong performance at the recent 2018 Under-18 Australian Championships.
The targeted development program will help Jade and the other 60 Australian hockey players selected as they push for inclusion in future international competitions.

READ NOWHockey WA high performance manager Jason Butcher said he wanted to congratulate Jade and the other young athletes on making the program.
“WA’s team-first culture continues to facilitate individual recognition and reward for aspiring athletes whilst delivering team success and enhancing the holistic development of its under-U18 cohort,” he said.
“The number of Recognised Futures athletes over the last four years has been consistently very strong, however it’s just as important that we continue to review and reflect on how we can build on these results.”
