Grand Final Heartbreak
Armadale have gone down to Cockburn in the One Day Grand final by the barest of margins in an all-time classic game of cricket.
It was a game with everything and many twists and turns.

Enter Jake Forsyth.
He bowled brilliantly and snared 3 quick wickets, as Rob Hanham bowled superbly at the other end creating pressure, taking a wicket early on before finishing with the fine figures of 1-16 off 8 overs.
Forsyth then took another wicket before Damian Carroll snared two in 2 balls as Cockburn fell to an incredible 7-92.
They then rebuilt before Jake Forsyth took another as he finished with the fine figures of 5-37.
In a stroke of genius, Carroll threw the ball to Jeff Petrie and he didn’t disappoint, taking a vital wicket as Cockburn fell again to 9-124.
They again fought back and scrambled to 153 all out as Damian Carroll finished them off taking 3-29.
In reply Armadale got off to a shocker to be 3-15 before Rylan Arms and Will Hunt steadied the ship.
The pair batted brilliantly, defending well, but attacking anything loose as they put on 60.
Hunt ended up with 31, while Arms made 26.
Their wickets saw a mini collapse as Armadale fell from a promising 3-73 to 7-92.
Skipper Damian Carroll then made a handy 21 as Armadale looked back on track, but his wicket saw Armadale fall to 8-118 and with it all hope was gone.
Or was it?
Against all odds Anton Bickley and Michael Wise dug deep.
They pushed ones and hit the odd boundary as things started to get tight.
Down to 6 needed off the final over, Bickley was run out after a sensational fighting 19 as he and Wise put on 30.
In the end Armadale needed 3 off the final ball but could only scramble 1 as they lost by a solitary run.
Wise popped his shoulder out but still put in a monumental effort to be unbeaten on 22.
Congratulations go to Cockburn on the win, but a well done was due to the Armadale boys for such a brave effort and to keep on fighting until the death.
Hopefully we can reverse the result in the main finals.
