Dale Hockey Club has long history of success despite small size

Jessica NicoComment News

FOR a small local sporting organisation, the Dale Hockey Club has had a long history of success.

Celebrating their 40th anniversary last year, the Seville Grove-based club has enjoyed some big highlights in recent times, from taking out the minor premiership in last year’s Provisional 4 Men’s competition to being named champions three times over in 2015 with their J5/6, J9/10 and J11/12 teams.

With three senior teams and three junior teams last year, Dale Hockey Club president Nick Cozens said the club was looking to expand and give more locals of all ages and experience levels a chance to enjoy playing hockey.

“Hockey can cater for those wanting the challenge and thrill of competition or to just get involved socially, and being a team sport it promotes camaraderie between players and can really foster life long friendships.”

The Dale Hockey Club will host a Have a Go family fun and registration day from 10.30am to 1.30pm March 24 at Bob Blackburn Reserve.
