FORMER Perth Glory striker Steve McGarry believes it should be a good season for his old side.

Speaking from Southern River College where he was running a football training session with the students, McGarry said the Glory had recruited well and their depth should serve them through the season.

The Glory sits fourth on the A-league ladder with one win and one draw after defeating Wellington Phoenix 2-0 on the weekend.

“I think they will do pretty well, they have got a good squad,” he said.

“They have added a bit more flair with Adam Taggart coming in its going to be a real competition for places this year so I am sure that it won’t be an easy job for (Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe).”

The 37-year-old played 114 games and scored 11 goals with Glory.

Glory plays Melbourne City away on October 21.
