Football: Gosnells Hawks eye win over Nollamara

Staff reporterComment News

TOP of the table Gosnells Hawks are looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season when they host Nollamara at Gosnells Football Oval in their WAAFL Division C2 clash.

The Hawks produced a huge performance away to Warnbro last week to maintain their winning streak through the opening eight games of the season.

While their opponents are coming off a big victory over Canning Vale last weekend, Gosnells will be full of confidence, knowing they need a win with Lynwood-Ferndale breathing down their necks.

Thornlie Football Club will be hoping to keep pace with Kinglsey and Noranda at the top of the WAAFL Division C1 when they travel to Willetton.

The Lions lost a tight clash to Noranda last week, and now sit four points off the top two.

With Willetton sitting three spots below them, Thornlie know a win is imperative to continuing their title chase.

Gosnells City FC face a difficult task when they host UWA Nedlands FC at Walter Padbury Reserve in State League Division 1.

The visitors have had an up and down season and currently sit in 6th position, but are coming off a resounding 5-1 win over high-flying South West Phoenix.

In contrast, Gosnells are searching for their first win since Round 1 and will be without Joshua Wade through suspension, while captain Dean Apelgren is still on the sidelines.

However, Wade Farmer has returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines to take his place in the side.
