Gosnells can’t break losing streak: WACA Premier Cricket

Francis CurroComment News

After the first day start was delayed due to a damp pitch, Gosnells quickly finished off Melville’s batting innings on Saturday.

Melville resumed at 3-111, but the Hawks’ bowlers fired, taking the final seven wickets of just 26 runs.

UK import Luis Reece starred with 6-31 from 20.4 overs to give Gosnells optimism they could snap their losing run.

However, the batting innings didn’t go according to plan, with Gosnells bowled out for 87 inside 33 overs.

Gosnells lost 4-2 to slump to 4-17, with prize recruit Luke Pomersbach (0) failing again.

Skipper Darcy Short top scored with 24, while Reece was dismissed for a golden duck as the Hawks’ guns failed with the bat again.

Gosnells will look to get back to winning ways at home to bottom-placed Midland-Guildford from 11.40am next Saturday.
