Gosnells Cricket Club faces tough season after star departures

GOSNELLS Cricket Club will begin the new season without many of their stars, as an exodus of players headlines the off-season at Sutherlands Park.

D’Arcy Short, Brett Bayley and Matt Hanna have all made the move to Willetton leaving a significant hole in their top side.

Josh Bailey has found himself at South Perth, with Danny Nerelitis needing his young chargers to step up.

The loss of Bayley is significant after his 37 scalps last season, guiding the side to 10th place.

The leadership of Short will also be missed.

Veteran quick Aaron Keverne-Onyon has stepped into a coaching role, with the side’s fast-bowling stocks severely weakened.

A challenging season approaches for the side.
