GOSNELLS Golf Club’s Maddison Hinson-Tolchard rubbed shoulders with some of the best young golfers in the world at the recent Aaron Baddeley Junior International in California.
Competing against teams from the United States, Canada, Mexico and Japan, 15-year-old Maddison finished 11th in the individual girls field before pairing with Sarah Wilson to claim fourth place in the team event.
She was one of two young WA golfers at the competition, with Mandurah Golf Club’s Cooper Geddes helping an Australian team to victory and finishing ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Both Maddison and Cooper are considered to be among the best in the next crop of WA golfing talent, with Maddison taking out the last three Callaway Junior Championships.
