Gosnells praying for a miracle in Premier Cricket finals hunt

Francis CurroComment News

GOSNELLS’ slim finals hopes are in disarray after a troublesome first day against Bayswater-Morley at Sutherlands Park in their Premier Cricket Round 14 clash.

The Bears piled on 343 on day one on Saturday after winning the toss and electing to bat.

David Thomason was a star for Gosnells with 6-76 in a strong return, with Luis Reece again leading from the front with three wickets.

Gosnells actually reduced Bayswater-Morley to 3-52 early on, but Robbie Guy (132) and Josh Philippe (88) thwarted the Hawks.

It is a must-win game for the home side, with finals almost out of the equation.

Gosnells needed an outright win in the penultimate round to have any hope of making the finals, meaning they’ll need a miracle next Saturday to stay in the hunt.
