GOSNELLS has suffered a crushing first-innings loss to Willetton after being bowled out for 84 in their Premier Cricket match on Saturday.
They added just eight more runs to its total at Sutherlands Park 1 on day 2, with Brett Bayley and Matt Hanna taking the final two wickets.
Willetton then decided to send Gosnells back out to bat, in hopes of an outright win.
The start looked promising from Willetton, taking the first three wickets for 40, before Gosnells found a much-needed partnership.
David Roberts and Matthew Leipold put on a tough 80-run stand, pushing the total to 120 before Leipold was dismissed for 33.
Roberts continued to push hard, attempting to avoid the outright loss as he posted a hard-fought 73 off 123, before he was eventually bowled by Kallen Bond.
Brandon Jacobs then arrived at the crease and fought hard to keep the Willetton bowlers at bay.
Unfortunately for Jacobs, wickets fell heavily around him as he grinded out an unbeaten 63, as Gosnells finished the second innings on 7-246.
