GOSNELLS wrestler Chris Vice will take on Davis Storm in the Explosive Pro Wrestling Ironman Match as part of ReAwakening 15.

The 180cm and 97kg wrestler will be going for the title in the 15th anniversary game at Bodyslam Central in Bassendean on November 19 as part of the main event.

Mr Vice said the Ironman match – which is 60 minutes – is much longer than one of his usual fights.

He said he was confident he could win and his opponent Mr Storm even trained him when he first broke in.

“The length is probably the biggest difference from most other matches, as it is pretty rare to go more than 20 minutes to half an hour,” he said.

Along with the four sessions per week he does at the EPW training facility in Malaga, he said he has also had to do cardio training to prepare for a much longer match.

Mr Vice grew up in the Gosnells area and began wrestling 13 years ago in Maddington.

From there, he has moved himself up the ranks to become professional and as a result has fought all around the country and toured the United States.

He said it was something that he always wanted to do.

“It’s something I have always been a huge fan of as a kid. When I found out there was a way to live my dream and train to be a pro wrestler, I jumped on board and took it really seriously,” he said.

“There is always the high risk of getting hurt and injured and I think when people see me get hurt they get a little concerned but know I am head strong and battle with it and take it as they come.

“They [family and friends] do worry but know what I am doing.”

By day, he is a scaffolder, but spends his spare time training to be a pro wrestler including at the EPW training facility in Malaga.
