The Hawks were too good for Scarborough at Abbett Park, with English imports Luis Reece and Aaron Keverne-Onyon putting on 95 for the eighth wicket to sneak over the line.
Brett Bayley was the chief destroyer for Gosnells, taking 4-18, reducing the hosts to 162 all out.
In reply, the away side were in massive trouble at 8-69 before Reece and Keverne-Onyon put together a match-winning partnership, with both bringing up half-centuries in the process.
Reece, who was last year’s runner-up in the Olly Cooley Medal, made a patient 57* from 108 balls, with only three boundaries along the way.
