Chairwoman Tracey Reid said her son had always enjoyed successful school carnival days and wanted to make the next step to little athletics.

“When we saw advertising for Kelvale Little Athletics, he wanted to join as he loved all the events,” Ms Reid said.

“The families were very welcoming and knowledgeable.”

Ms Reid said the club encouraged its little athletes to be just as proud of displaying good sportsmanship as well as winning any trophies or medals.

“They shake hands with their fellow competitors after races and events, and have forged friendships with all club competitors,” she said.

“We’re super-proud of this display of character.”

The club is working itself back up to a strong club after falling membership, with a full committee and positive ideas rebuilding and helping Kelvale’s little athletes shine.
