TWO Mundijong sports clubs have received funding for brand new equipment and facilities.
The Mundijong Serpentine Little Athletics Club and the Mundijong Centrals Football and Sportsman’s Club will share $20,000 of grant funding from the Sate Government.
The money will provide two new gazebos, high jump mats, javelins, hurdles and a new public address system for the little athletics club, while the football club will receive three new fridges.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray said he was delighted to see the clubs have the ability to improve amenities.
“Clubs with quality equipment and facilities do better at retaining members and attracting new participants. Memberships are what keeps clubs on their feet and thriving,” he said.
“Strong local clubs not only contribute to healthier, more active communities, they also help keep communities connected.”
