Jessica NicoComment News

ARMADALE have won two of their last three games after downing Sorrento in round 12 of the NPLWA.

The home team got off to a flyer when Chris Jackson volleyed the ball passed the Sorrento goalkeeper just five minutes into the match.

Armadale made it 2-0 a few minutes later when Josh Kuser found the bottom corner in the 14th minute.

Sorrento rallied and tightened their defence, making it harder for Armadale to move the ball and have accurate shots on goal, but they struggled to score themselves.

The game became tighter in the second half when Sorrento scored in the 65th minute, but Armadale were able to hold on for the 2-1 win.

Coach John O’Reilly said the win was a solid team effort.

“I wish we’d put the game to bed but I’m happy with the result,” he said.

In a strong run of recent form Armadale has not lost a game since round 7 against Balcatta and are now sitting 8th on the NPLWA ladder with four wins and four draws.

It will be a hard match for Armadale this weekend, taking on the second placed Cockburn City from 6pm May 12 at Alfred Skeet Reserve.
