PBs all the rage at Thornlie

At the South Lake Dolphins Meet, nine swimmers established 39 personal bests.

The stars of the meet were Sophie Hill (12), of Mt Nasura scoring 9/9 personal bests, Scott Hickey (12) of Martin scoring 7/8 and Luke Hill (15) of Mt Nasura with 5/5.

Scott also collected two silver medals, for the 50m breaststroke and 100m individual medley.

At the Leisure Park Lazers Meet, Jason Djaffarsah (14), of Maddington won three gold medals, in 100m butterfly and breaststroke, and the 200m individual medley, as well as four silver medals, in 100m freestyle and backstroke and 200m backstroke and breaststroke.

Grace Kyle (13), of Huntingdale won silver in the 100m breaststroke, among several other placements.

At the Western Sprint Swim Meet, Djaffarsah (14) ‘produced another outstanding effort’, Brown said, to secure Champion Trophies in the backstroke and individual medley, while Luke Hill (15) collected the individual medley trophy for 15-year-old boys.
