GOSNELLS have missed the 2016-17 Premier Cricket finals after suffering defeat to Bayswater-Morley in Round 14 at Sutherlands Park on Saturday.

Needing 344 for victory, Luis Reece (80) and Matt Leipold (65) were the only batsmen to show any sort of form as the side was bowled out for 254.

Despite the result, it has been an impressive season for Gosnells, who play Willetton away in the final round on Saturday.

After losing Brandon Jacobs for a first ball duck and Jonathon Crowe (3), Gosnells was reeling at 2-8.

Reece and Leipold combined for a 107-run fourth wicket partnership which gave the Hawks hope before state spinner Liam O’Connor got the latter’s wicket.

English import Reece fell to Nathan Rimmington and there was little else resistance except from David Thomason, who scored 35.
