Program provides chance to try out sport

Staff ReporterComment News

Cricket Champs is open to all boys and girls aged six to 16 who have disabilities, or who for any other reason are unready for a mainstream team.

The 12-week not-for-profit program gives them a chance to join a club, make friends and build basic skills and confidence.

Gosnells District co-ordinator Raymond Martin said organisers understood that children might have to miss one or two sessions or start halfway through a program.

The $90 cost includes a team shirt and cap, club membership and a presentation night, at which the Champs receive participation awards.
