Renee finishes Ironman in sixth position in Mandurah

Baker, who grew up in Armadale and attended Cecil Andrews Senior High School, finished the 1.9km swim, 90km bike-ride and 21.1km run in a time of 4 hours and 35 minutes.

She finished the bike leg in fifth position, but after a tough run slipped back to sixth overall.

Denis Chevrot was the fastest individual at the event with a time of 3.45:39, Jake Montgomery was second while Terenzo Bazzone rounded out the men’s podium.

The quickest individual woman was Caroline Steggen, with a time of 4.04:49 while Yvonne Van Vlerken and Laura Siddall rounded out the podium.

The fastest overall time went to a team called Mako Sport Australia who did it in 3.39:28
