THOMAS Kammermann was named Swimmer of the Year by Riverton Aquanauts Swimming Club at its annual awards ceremony.

The 15-year-old was presented the award by head coach Gemma Herrington.

“Over the last 12 months, we set Thomas some goals to achieve in his swimming, and he worked diligently every single week in order to meet them,” she said.

Thomas said he was surprised by the award but agreed he’d put a lot of effort in and had been pleased with his results.

Top achievers over the long course and short course seasons, both at Swimming WA competitions and club nights were recognised at Riverton Leisureplex on November 3.

Medals and trophies were donated by Riverton MLA Mike Nahan, who is an avid swimmer at the Leisureplex.
