Soccer: Chris Jackson hat trick leads Armadale to 3-1 win over Joondalup Utd

Jessica NicoComment News

A HAT TRICK from the in-form Chris Jackson helped Armadale to a 3-1 win over Joondalup United on a wet Saturday afternoon.

It took just eight minutes for Jackson to find the back of the net on the back of a big save from Joondalup keeper James Bosdet, who momentarily stopped the ball going past him before the Armadale striker nudged an easy tap-in.

A header in the 18th minute made it 2-0 before a defensive mistake in the 59th minute gifted Jackson number three.

Armadale coach John O’Reilly said the team could have done better, but he was pleased with the win.

“It’s a good result, I would have loved a more polished performance but I’ll take that result,” he said.

“It’s always going to be a scrappy game against Joondalup, their position on the ladder is very misplacing, they put up a fight right till the end.”

After 14 rounds, Armadale sits eighth on the ladder with five wins and four draws.

It next hosts 11th-placed Forrestfield United from 7pm June 2 at Alfred Skeet Reserve.
