The team, WA’s only junior team to compete at the 2012 Australian Floorball Open in Victoria, won a $1000 Team Achievement prize.

More than 240 children aged eight to 18 were nominated in four categories: inspirational boys, inspirational girls, inspirational team and inspirational volunteer, with north and south divisions for each.

The 120 attendees last Tuesday night, mostly individual nominees, parents and supporters, could not miss the Redbacks, their parents and two coaches, who made an impressive showing collecting their trophy.

‘We were all wearing our club colours and looked like a sea of red,’ said club secretary Phil Davey.
