The heat scored a 9-2 win against the Braves last Thursday, in seven innings.

Shawn Sanford took the mound for the Heat and looked in top form, pitching five shut-out innings.

The Heat started the game with a line drive triple to left by import Brian Pointer.

Then he was driven in by Tim Smith with a single up the middle, and the Heat did not look back.

In the fourth, Brian Pointer, Tim Smith, Jordan McDonald and Joey Wong scored runs.

Newly appointed hitting instructor Luke Hughes crushed a homer down the left field line in the fifth and plated Wong, bringing the score to 9-2.

The Heat then scored a 14-7 win over the USA All Stars on Friday. The team’s season opener is October 31 at Barbagallo Ballpark at 7.20pm.
