MATTHEW De Groot was among those representing WA in the Jack Pizzey Cup in Victoria last month.
The WA team was expected to come fourth against competitive Queensland and Victorian teams but cinched victory for the first time in 14 years against Victoria.
WA took home silver after the biggest clash of the whole tournament on day five against NSW.
“Thank you to the Shire for your contribution to allowing me the opportunity to travel interstate and represent my state, I will be forever grateful and will continue to work hard at my dream,” Mr De Groot said.
The Shire of Mundijong gave De Groot $150 through the Individual and Team Funding Grant.
