Test the waters at open day at WA rowing clubs

There will be a state-wide ergo competition for non-rowers.

The winners of each category will receive a complementary learn-to-row course from their preferred club.

Eleven clubs across WA will open their doors, including Champion Lakes Boating Club, Curtin University Boat Club, Fremantle Rowing Club, UWA Boat Club, Murdoch Rowing Club, Perth Rowing Club, Swan River Rowing Club and Western Australian Rowing Club.

Timothy Widdicombe from the University of WA Boat Club said rowing was the ultimate team sport.

“It offers you the complete body workout,” he said.

“The friendship that you gain is much stronger than you will from other sports, because of the training commitments and the work that you do together.”
