Thornlie swimmers thrive

Swimmers who had State qualifying or AA times could not enter the meet, said club head coach George Brown.

‘Sophie Hill and Taleisha Hurford grasped the opportunity and not only competed, but returned with their first ever medals,’ he said.

Both swimmers competed in four 50m events during the day.

Sophie achieved one all-time and two long-course personal bests, as well as winning silver in the 50m backstroke. Taleisha achieved four all-time personal bests, as well as winning bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Mr Brown said he was pleased with the results, but insisted that they were largely brought about by assistant coach Brad Hickey.
