WACA Premier Cricket: Gosnells slip down ladder after loss to Perth

GOSNELLS slipped outside the top six after a 67-run loss to Perth at Sutherlands Park in Premier Cricket on Saturday.

Chasing 6-308, the Hawks fell to 4-76 early and looked in trouble before Matt Leipold (64) and Ryan James-Buckley (48) rescued the innings.

Gosnells lost in-form Alistair Bivens (7) and English skipper Luis Reece (14) cheaply, to leave them with an uphill struggle.

Josh Nicholas was superb with the ball taking 3-34 for Perth, while Liam Guthrie and Dean Nelson also collected three wickets.

Jacob Van Galen took two in a team bowling effort, which saw Gosnells bowled out for 241.

Gosnells drops to ninth ahead of next round’s clash away to Scarborough.
