WACA Premier Cricket: Jury, Webster set challenge for Gosnells

Francis CurroComment News

GOSNELLS face a big run chase after twin tons and a record partnership from Perth pair Luke Jury and Angus Webster in their round six Premier Cricket match on Saturday.

Hawks bowlers Chris Prescott and Luis Reece were destructive early at Sutherlands Park, as the visitors fell to a paltry 5-35 early.

Both openers took two wickets, before Jury and Webster combined for a record 202-run stand to pull their side back into the contest.

Jury finished 109 not out, while Webster was caught for 117 in a fantastic display of patience and maturity.

Perth finished the day 6-309, with Jacob Van Galen the other not out batsman on 53.

Gosnells, who are third on the table after five rounds, will need to bat well to have any hope of victory next Saturday.
