Cameron Bancroft scored a century on his return to Premier Cricket as a star-studded Willetton side was too strong for Scarborough at Abbett Park on Saturday.
The Dragons crushed the Gulls by eight wickets with 16 balls to spare, to move up to eighth spot on the Premier Cricket ladder.
D’Arcy Short was outstanding on debut for his new club, taking 3-36 from 10 overs, before smashing 78 from 61 deliveries for the Dragons in a man of the match performance.
Scarborough had posted a competitive 6-262 after a late flurry from Andrew Rule (71no) and Andrew Tye (45 n.o.).
State bowler Simon Mackin, who continues his recovery from injury, had 1-35 from 10 overs, while Brad Hogg was absent.
Bancroft, alongside Short, got Willetton off to the perfect response, compiling a 110-run opening stand.
Short was run out for 78, with Bancroft carrying his bat, finishing up 115 n.o. from 130 balls, with 14 boundaries among his knock.
Willetton is next in action at Burrendah Reserve against Subiaco Floreat on Saturday.
