Kelmscott murder: family releases statement as police charge man

THE family of the Kelmscott man who was allegedly murdered by his son has released a statement via WA Police.

The statement calls for the family’s privacy to be respected at this “very difficult time”.

“The family of Keith and Estelle would like to thank everyone for the love and support they have received,” the statement said.

“We ask that our privacy be respected during this very difficult time.”

Police have charged the couple’s 42-year-old son with murder and attempt to unlawfully kill after the incident on Friday.

His 72-year-old father died at the house on Ensign Dale.

The man’s mother is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
