A MAN accused of setting a backpacker hostel on fire in inner Perth has been charged after another resident died in the blaze.
A 39-year-old male resident of the hostel was on Saturday charged with criminal damage by fire after the blaze at the East Perth premises on Friday about 12.25am.
A 44-year-old female resident of the hostel, was found dead.
And five residents received smoke inhalation with two taken to Royal Perth Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
