ABOUT 200 residents gathered at the site of a proposed apartment complex in Woodvale on Sunday to express their opposition.
The $2.2 million two-storey proposal is for 12 units across 80 and 82 Trailwood Drive, near the underpass to Whitfords train station, replacing two single-storey houses.

Joondalup Central Ward councillors Russell Poliwka and Christopher May attended to address residents.
“They answered numerous questions around the consultation process, the overdevelopment of the blocks, the Residential Design Codes, State Government infill policy, and the next steps in the consultation process,” resident Suzanne Apps said.
“Other resident concerns were raised around dangerous road, pedestrian and cyclist safety conditions caused by the inadequate number of parking bays available on site for the residents and visitors, and the parking overflow consequences.”
She said residents would be forming a ratepayers association, creating a petition and making formal representations to the City of Joondalup, State Government and other key decision makers.

The proposal will now be assessed by the Metro North-West Joint Development Assessment Panel next Thursday, January 24.
Joondalup officers have recommended a decision be deferred for six weeks for the applicant to modify the design to reduce the amount of hard surface in the street setback to allow for improved landscaping, and to allow for an amended waste management plan to be provided.
