The ladder holding Mr Piggott slipped and he fell.
The Woodvale resident received head and spinal injuries, rendering him a paraplegic.
Two years on, Mr Piggott has not let the disability deter him from enjoying life.

With a particular zest for caravanning, he recently took driving lessons through the Independent Living Centre (ILC).
The centre also gave him access to a disability equipment grant, helping with costs to modify his car with a hoist and add a hand control with |remote switches.
ILC chief executive Gerri Clay said the grants had a significant impact on the quality of recipients’ lives.
“Driving is such an important part of Brian’s independence and he loves to explore Western Australia with his wife Elaine through caravanning,” she said.
The ILC recently accepted more than $2 million in Lotterywest funds to keep the disability equipment grant on offer.
More than 700 people accessed it in the last financial year.
