Greyhounds: Young chaser Social Equity continues undefeated run

James BroadhurstMandurah Times

Talented young chaser Social Equity has maintained her undefeated run in WA with a victory at Mandurah last Friday.

Social Equity had two starts in Melbourne before joining Damien Crudeli’s Nambeelup kennels at the end of last year.

The move has been a good one for both the greyhound and his trainer, with Social Equity now 4-0 in the west.

Social Equity had been away from the track for a couple of months prior to her most recent effort but looked as sharp as ever in the 50 Years of Racing Damian Crawford Grade 5/6 over 300m.

From box five, Social Equity showed her customary early speed to lead all the way and she held on for a comfortable win by one-and-a-half lengths ahead of runner-up Harlow in 17.15.

Social Equity has shown plenty of versatility in her short career to date, with wins over 400m, 488m and now 300m.

In other racing, Sunset Hornet rolled to her seventh win from her past 10 attempts when she scored in the Tommy Shelby at Stud Grade 4 (400m).

The David Hobby-trained speedster brushed past the leading West On Miley on the turn before kicking away in the home straight to win easily in a personal best time of 22.06.
