THE City of Wanneroo has seized a dog allegedly involved in a fatal attack of another dog in Butler last week.
Community and place director Debbie Terelinck said the City seized the dog on May 24 in the interests of community safety while it continued its investigation.
A 10-year-old girl had been walking her dog Charlie on a lead around Kingsbridge Park about 5.30pm on May 18 when the attack occurred.

“The dog’s owner now has seven days to comply with a number of conditions attached to the dangerous dog declaration before the dog can be released,” Ms Terelinck said.
“Failure to comply with these dangerous dog conditions within seven days will mean that the City will not return the dog to its owner.
“The City asks that all dog owners act responsibly when exercising their pets in public places such as footpaths and parks.
“Owners who are unable to control their dogs must keep their pets on a lead at all times.”
The dangerous dog conditions include that the dog must be registered and micro-chipped and installation of ‘dangerous dog’ signs outside the owner’s property.
The conditions also require that when in public places, the dog is on a lead at all times, wears a muzzle and “an easily identifiable dangerous dog collar”.
