POLICE have charged five church leaders with trespass over today’s sit-in at Federal politician Christian Porter’s Ellenbrook office – regarding the treatment of refugees on Manus Island.
The three ministers and two lay leaders were walked over to Ellenbrook police station and later released to await a summons in the mail.
They took the action in solidarity with the 400-plus men on the island refusing to leave the closed processing centre.

READ NOWDarlington-Bellevue Anglican priest Father Chris Bedding said the protesters were calling on Mr Porter and the Federal Government to bring those in offshore processing centres to Australia.
Mr Porter’s office has been contacted for comment.
