THE thriving Vale community in Aveley has received the top award for master planned communities at the 2016 UDIA Western Australian Awards for Excellence.
Vale’s win in the prestigious master planned development category represents the second UDIA state award for developer Stockland’s fast growing community
In 2010, Vale was declared the winner of the Residential Development category for over 250 lots.

Stockland WA general manager Col Dutton said he was thrilled the 5000-home community had claimed the top prize.

“Vale is a special place that showcases everything a planned community can and should be,’’ Mr Dutton said.
“It’s green, it’s natural, it’s unfussy, it has beautiful views, it’s true to the character of the Swan Valley, it’s a close-knit community – and all in one of the fastest-growing corridors in WA.
“There’s a reason people love to live there.”
Mr Dutton said the thriving, close-knit community had generated more than $400 million in revenue to date.
“There is a clear premium in resale values and homeowner equity compared to local competitors,” he said.
“As the community reaches maturity, residents are reaping the benefits of the insightful master planning that began some 15 years ago.”
Vale was launched in 2004 and is a major part of Perth’s northeastern growth corridor.
More than 20 per cent of the 537-hectare community is dedicated to open space, with housing precincts separated by natural bush corridors.
In addition, streets and parks are lined with mature existing trees to create a shaded, green and natural feel.
Mr Dutton said a highlight of Vale was a series of lakes that formed a scenic centrepiece for residents and visitors.
“Meanwhile, the community’s landscaped parks are connected by endless walking and cycling paths to encourage an active, outdoor lifestyle and the community also has a free, weekly 5km park run,” he said.
Vale also boasts a vibrant town centre, established primary and secondary schools, sporting facilities and a medical centre.
New facilities include an off-leash dog park, while a new adventure park and playground and the community’s second neighbourhood centre are under construction.
