Cambridge decides on home developments

CAMBRIDGE Council considered a variety of development applications at its December meeting.

Council voted to refuse:

AN application for a sea container at a property on St Leonards Avenue in West Leederville because it would have an “undue impact on visual aesthetics and the desired residential amenity”.

A PROPOSAL for a fence at the front of a home on Palana Road in City Beach because it was not in keeping with design principles and the “prevailing character” of the area.

PLANS for a two-storey home on Dilkara Way in City Beach because of building height and bulk.

A REQUEST for a ‘vergola’ to create a covered outdoor drying area at a home on Meagher Drive in Floreat because it would adversely impact the neighbour’s amenity.

It voted to approve:

CARPORT and alfresco areas at homes on Lifford Road and The Boulevard in Floreat.

A TWO-STOREY home being developed at Baramba Road in City Beach subject to conditions, including planting of an advanced growth tree on the front verge.

DEVELOPMENT of a home at a vacant lot on Elphin Street in Floreat subject to conditions to meet streetscape provisions.

EXPANSION of a property on Talgarth Way in City Beach to add a third storey and extend the first floor level towards the street.

PLANS for a two-storey home to replace an existing dwelling on Berkeley Crescent in Floreat.
