Kristie LimEastern Reporter

A BAYSWATER podiatry business has been named as a finalist for a national health and wellbeing business of the year award.

The Mustard Seed Podiatry team will be WA’s sole representative in the category at the My Business Awards 2016, held in Sydney on November 18.

Mustard Seed Podiatry is also the only podiatry business that made the final cut.

The business also won the Young Entrepreneur Award at the Belmont Small Business Awards on October 26.

Principal podiatrist and co-owner Dr Samuel Ong (25) said he was surprised with the selection.

“It is just a very exciting time for us because we have only been up and running since March this year, and to be able to achieve this is far more than we could ever imagine,” he said.

“More than anything, it is just pleasing to know that we are making a difference in the lives of other people, and the awards are just a validation for that.”

The Morley resident said the number of clients had increased since March.

“We are always striving to be better practitioners, and that means constantly learning and equipping ourselves with new skills and the latest research,” he said.

Dr Ong said musculoskeletal pain and skin & nail care were most common among people in the area.

He said he hoped to continue to reach out and serve the community.
