Kristie LimEastern Reporter

WITH more than 200 years of experience, Helloworld Travel Dianella’s team will start servicing travel goers in its renovated space this month.

Owner Sheena Tunnicliff bought the former Cathay International Travel agency in Dianella Plaza Shopping Centre in April and had been undergoing renovations and rebranding over the past few months.

The premium branch will be holding an opening event on June 29 from 9am to 2pm, where clients will be treated to champagne and food and chat to Scenic Travel cruise specialists.

Ms Tunnicliff, of Warwick, has been in the industry for more than 25 years and has owned a travel agency in the United Kingdom and worked on cruises.

Ms Tunnicliff said the community had been welcoming so far.

“All the locals have been great, there are a lot of well wishes with the business,” she said.

“We have got over 220 years experience with all of the staff I got in here.

“So, we have a broad spectrum of knowledge around the world.”

She said she hoped to establish a “niche” in the market for solo travellers and cruises.

“I’m finding a lot of customers come in and want to travel by themselves,” she said.

“They are not too sure or they are wary about going by themselves.

“Solo holidays will be my niche market, along with cruise holidays.

“I’m looking at doing a tea and coffee (event) to get like-minded single people together and they might go on a holiday, a tour or a cruise together – a bit like Tinder dating.”

She said the current travel trends were European cruises, Alaska, Canada and Japan.

The branch will have local and group deals including Scenic Travel river cruises in Europe, Princess Cruises and collect tours.
