Luigi stares down rivals, karts off meat title

Winning the traditional barbecue category with his barbecue sausage, he also came first in the lamb, continental, gourmet/open class and burger categories.

The butcher also tied for second and third in gourmet/open class for his black angus beef with cheese, and pork and apple cider sausages, which were also 2014 regional winners.

He said he was happy with the wins and grateful to the Australian Meat Industry Council for organising the competition.

"Its been an enjoyable but hard two years for us establishing this business in what has been the hardest time for retail, but we are determined to continue servicing our customers and keeping the butchering industry alive," he said.
